Wordpress Contact Form 7 File Upload Size
The 1 mb limit could exist being imposed past your WordPress hosting – I'd bank check with them.
I am using powweb.com for spider web hosting and accept checked with them. Their limit is 20mb.
i am trying to limit it to 3mb

The maximum upload size is controlled at the server-level, not by WordPress or Contact Class vii. Here are three ways you lot can increase the upload limit:
1. If yous can edit or override the system php.ini file, increment the maximum file and post sizes. For example, upload_max_filesize = 100M ;
and post_max_size = 100M ;
ii. If you cannot edit or override the organization php.ini file, add php_value upload_max_filesize 100M
and php_value post_max_size = 100M
to your .htaccess file.
3. If neither of these piece of work, it'southward time to ask your hosting provider to increase the maximum file and post sizes on your account. Continue in mind that most decent hosting providers allow this, and If your hosting provider won't adjust you, perhaps it's fourth dimension to detect a new hosting provider.
(in the above examples, the limit is set to 100MB)
@macmanx – thanks for the detailed communication. I've bookmarked this for future reference.
Thanks James, but php.ini is already set to 20M. Calculation the code to .htaccess gives an internal mistake message.

Are y'all able to upload the file via Media > Add New in your site's Dashboard without issue?
Aye, no issues in that. It too displays at the bottom of that page "Maximum upload file size: 20 MB" indicating that it is properly synced with php.ini. I uploaded 7mb file without any consequence.
I too tried file uploader plugin which uploads into the wp-content/uploads folder. Even that is working fine.
In wp-content/uploads folder there is a contact form 7 folder with an empty .htaccess file. I put php_value upload_max_filesize 100M and php_value post_max_size = 100M in that location but no assist.
Note: I am putting php_value upload_max_filesize 100M as information technology is without any quotes etc, is that right or i need to affix information technology with something else?

Hm, ok information technology's not the upload limit and then, that'south odd.
I approximate the trouble is indeed with the shortcode parameter, peradventure a problems, only having never used it myself I'k not sure.
Someone with a bit more knowledge and feel on this should be along.
I guess the problem is indeed with the shortcode parameter, possibly a bug, but having never used it myself I'm non sure.
The CF7 tag looks fine. I besides don't think it's a bug. I use the file upload feature on several forms and go emails with uploaded files of varying sizes every solar day.
@kharoon – can y'all confirm that you are testing this on desktop & not via mobile?
Noticed that you're also non controlling filetypes in your CF7 tag. This tin assistance with avoiding hosting Modsec rules.
@james: Thank you for your effort 🙂
@neil: Aye I am using the laptop and not a mobile.
Noticed that you're too non controlling filetypes in your CF7 tag
I don't think that should be an issue since CF7 is supposed to apply default restrictions for file types when you practice not set it in the tag. Yet, changed the tag to this: [file* file-868 filetypes:pdf|physician|docx limit:3mb] simply information technology all the same didn't work.
Tin you lot share your tag format delight to see if that works. Thank you.
Your CF7 file tag format is right & like to what I use. I definitely don't think that CF7 is causing your trouble.
I'd recommend you ask your hosting virtually what Modsec rules they utilise to file uploads via HTML class submissions.
My experience in dealing with a range of hosts is that you ofttimes won't get accurate communication until you ask very specific & detailed questions.
ok thanks will practise and get back
just a second thought, I still oasis't upgraded from php 5.iii exercise u remember that might be an issue?

Changing php versions didn't help. Contacted the hosting staff to ask nearly modsec rules. He didn't comment anything on that but tried changing the php memory limit to 256 from 128 but no help. He has raised a ticket, so lets see what the tech department says.
